How many days in each month?

✊ Knuckle trick: make a fist. Say the months on your knuckles and the dips between them, starting with January on the first knuckle. A month on a knuckle has 31 days; a month in a dip has 30 — except February, which has 28 (29 in a leap year). July and August both land on knuckles, so both have 31.

Hindu calendar months (हिंदू महीने)

चैत्र → वैशाख → ज्येष्ठ → आषाढ़ → श्रावण → भाद्रपद → आश्विन → कार्तिक → मार्गशीर्ष → पौष → माघ → फाल्गुन

In the Hindu (Vikram Samvat) calendar the year starts with चैत्र, which falls around March–April. These months follow the Moon, so they do not line up exactly with January–December, and the start of each month can differ between regions.
