🔴 Red — stop · 🟡 Yellow — get ready, slow down · 🟢 Green — go, carefully
Rules to remember

- India drives on the left, so look right, then left, then right again before you cross.
- Walk on the footpath. Where there is none, walk on the edge facing the traffic.
- Wear a helmet on a two-wheeler and a seat belt in a car. Children sit in the back seat.
- Never run behind a ball onto the road. Never cross between parked cars.
- Get on and off the school bus only when it has stopped. Stay away from the front and back of the bus.
- Make way for an ambulance or fire engine.
- In an emergency, call 112.
112 is India's single emergency number for police, fire and ambulance (112.gov.in, Ministry of Home Affairs; checked 27 Oct 2026).
