A decimal shows parts of a whole. The digit just after the point is tenths, the next is hundredths.

0.3 = 3 tenths = 3/10. 0.07 = 7 hundredths = 7/100.
Money: ₹4.50 = 4 rupees 50 paise. Length: 1.25 m = 1 m 25 cm.
To compare, look at the whole number first, then tenths, then hundredths: 2.7 > 2.65 because 7 tenths > 6 tenths.
