Euler's formula: for every polyhedron (a solid with flat polygon faces), F + V − E = 2.

Curved solids: a cylinder has 2 flat faces and 1 curved surface, 2 curved edges, no vertex; a cone has 1 flat face, 1 curved surface, 1 edge and 1 vertex; a sphere has 1 curved surface and no edge or vertex. Euler's formula is for polyhedra only. Also see 3D shapes.

Goes with NCERT Maths Class 5–8 (3D shapes; Visualising solid shapes).
