Multiplication and division games
Multiplication is adding equal groups
An array is objects in rows and columns. 3 rows of 4 is 3 × 4 = 12 (the same as 4 + 4 + 4).
Division is sharing equally
12 sweets shared equally among 3 children: each child gets 4. We write 12 ÷ 3 = 4. Division is the opposite of multiplication: because 3 × 4 = 12, we know 12 ÷ 3 = 4.
