Magnetic and non-magnetic materials games
What do magnets attract?
Magnets attract things made of iron (and steel, which is mostly iron), nickel and cobalt. They do not attract wood, plastic, glass, paper, cloth — or even many metals like aluminium, copper, gold and silver.
- Every magnet has two poles, north and south. Like poles repel; unlike poles attract.
- A freely hanging magnet points north–south — that is how a compass works.
