| Rectilinear (सरल रेखीय) | along a straight line: falling stone, car on a straight road |

| Circular (वृत्तीय) | along a circle: merry-go-round, tip of a fan blade |
| Periodic (आवर्ती) | repeats after fixed time: pendulum, swing, vibrating string |
Circular motion also repeats, so it is periodic too — here we sort by the path. Speed = distance ÷ time.
