Direct and inverse proportion games

Direct and inverse proportion अनुक्रमानुपात और व्युत्क्रमानुपात

Direct proportionInverse proportion
When one goes up…the other goes up in the same ratiothe other goes down in the same ratio
What stays the samex ÷ y = kx × y = k
Example1 pen ₹10, 3 pens ₹30, 5 pens ₹502 workers 12 days, 4 workers 6 days, 6 workers 4 days

Unitary method: find the value for 1, then multiply. Direct: 4 kg cost ₹100 → 1 kg ₹25 → 7 kg ₹175. Inverse: 3 taps fill a tank in 8 hours → 1 tap takes 24 hours → 6 taps take 4 hours.

Careful: not everything is in proportion — your age and your height, for example. Also see ratio and proportion.

Goes with NCERT Maths Class 8 (Direct and inverse proportions). Sums are worked out exactly.
