Universal law of gravitation गुरुत्वाकर्षण का सार्वत्रिक नियम

Every object in the universe attracts every other object. The force is F = G m₁m₂ / r²: it grows with the masses and falls with the square of the distance. G ≈ 6.67 × 10⁻¹¹ N m²/kg² (the same everywhere).

ChangeForce becomes
distance × 2¼
distance × 31/9
distance ÷ 2× 4
one mass × 2× 2
both masses × 2× 4

g (acceleration due to gravity) ≈ 9.8 m/s² on the Earth's surface. It is a little more at the poles than at the equator, and less as you go up. Also see laws of motion, equations of motion and the solar system.

Goes with NCERT Science Class 9, Chapter Gravitation. g = 9.8 m/s²; G ≈ 6.67 × 10⁻¹¹ N m²/kg² (NCERT gives 6.673 × 10⁻¹¹).
