Reflection of light games

Laws of reflection

  1. The angle of incidence = the angle of reflection.
  2. The incident ray, the reflected ray and the normal lie in the same plane.

Plane mirror image

Virtual, upright, same size, as far behind the mirror as the object is in front, and laterally inverted (left ↔ right).

Spherical mirrors

Concave (converging)Convex (diverging)
Real or virtual image depending on where the object is; magnified when the object is closeAlways virtual, upright and smaller
Shaving mirror, dentist's mirror, torch reflector, solar cookerRear-view mirror, road-bend mirror, shop security mirror

f = R/2 · Mirror formula 1/v + 1/u = 1/f · Magnification m = −v/u.

For Class 7 (Light: Shadows and Reflections), Class 8 (Light: Mirrors and Lenses) and Class 10 (Light — Reflection and Refraction).
